  1. I want to attend the gathering, but I do not drive. I am considering taking Amtrak, which, if it’s on time, would get me to Union Statn @ 8:45 A.M. But that means a 6 hr. layover in Toledo. I could save about $ 70 if I take Greyhound to downtown Chicago, getting there before 6 A.M. Any suggestions?

    • Steve, if you take Greyhound to downtown Chicago that seems to make sense for time and money.
Once you get downtown, I would take the CTA Red Line north to the Morse Ave station. The ticket is $2.25 one way.
From the Greyhound station, it is a 1 mile walk East down Harrison street to the Red Line Subway station at Harrison and State. You can purchase your ticket inside. The trains run every 15 minutes.
Go to http://www.transitchicago.com/riding_cta/how_to_guides/ridingthetrain.aspx for more information.

Once you exit the Morse Ave station – about a 30 minute ride, walk two blocks West to the church – United Church of Rogers Park. There is a really great coffee shop on Morse Ave, the Common Cup, that will be a good place to relax. We will be at the church by 9 am at the latest for set up. Folks will be there earlier if want to wander in.

Steve, call at any time so someone from the church can talk you through it! The church number is 773-951-4268.
Are you going to stay in town overnight for the Pride Parade on Sunday? If not, I can assist you in getting back to downtown after the event.

      Pastor Rachelle Brown
