You are making a difference and having an impact in our community, city and world! Too often this ministry is hidden from view and we don’t realize how much more we are able to accomplish together. Here is a list of some of what you have already made happen in the first part of this year:
- Donated $1,000 to Spirit of Christ MCC in Joplin, MO to help with recovery and rebuilding
- Collected over 50 bags of groceries for Lakeview Pantry
- Walked for Justice with Lakeview Action
- Supported MCC’s global ministries with $1200 to to Tear Down Walls and Build up Hope around the world
- Provided space for Youth Pride to keep its annual Living Legends program alive
- Stood firm and actively worked to prevent efforts to eliminate (or diminish) Civil Unions
- Worked to keep HIV/Aids funding and services in the Illinois and Federal budgets
- Translated morning messages into Spanish to extend the message of God’s love for all
- Provided ongoing spiritual support for people in recovery
- Visited over a dozen people in hospital
- Were a positive presence for persons facing health, emotional, relational and spiritual challenges
- Held over 60 connection groups in our living rooms, coffee shops and other places around the city
